Hay is a boxy, slightly cropped sweater with drop shoulders. It is knitted bottom up, in the round, and then split for the armholes. The lace stitch is subtle, just simple lines of pointelle amongst gridded knit and purl.
About the Pattern
I lay in bed with serene Winter sun dancing on my face and relished the quietness: it was like the world took a deep, relaxed breath. I closed my eyes and wrapped myself in my favourite sweater, Hay.
It is knitted in Road to China Light by The Fibre Co. It is a breathtakingly soft blend of alpaca, cashmere, camel and silk, almost impossible to put down. Hay is a pleasure to knit, a joy to throw on top of your cotton pyjamas on a crisp Sunday morning in October, while waiting for the first cup of coffee.
